Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

Earn 10.0 continuing education credits annually

Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts in order to accommodate staffing

This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 04/20/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

The RN staff nurse assumes primary responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for assigned patients.

A Nurse Clinician I plans and implements routine care but may need guidance when setting priorities. S/he is starting to integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. S/he recognizes his/her own limitations and seeks assistance as appropriate. S/he begins to assume leadership responsibilities.
