Job Responsibilities

The HR Business Partner works with his/her client(s) to understand strategies, analyze business needs, and develop and/or promote HR initiatives to advance the strategic goals of the business. This individual is responsible for providing HR support and training in associate relations, performance management, retention, and legal compliance. Specific responsibilities include:

Associate Relations

Provide effective coaching, counseling strategies on store associate relations issues to ensure fair and consistent practices in the organization.

Investigate and work toward resolution in associate complaints regarding overall work environment, discrimination, harassment and retaliation, FLSA, ADA, FMLA.

Ensure that strategies and processes comply with company policies and procedures, state/federal laws and regulations, and company culture as best as possible.

Analyze data, partner and coach field leadership to identify patterns and determine appropriate solutions.

Investigate EEO charges, civil action and FLSA issues and work with legal counsel on the collection of statements, data, documents, etc.

Recruiting & Talent management

Partner and coach field leadership in addressing store manager and associate performance management issues.

Partner with field leadership to ensure solid hiring and recruiting practices that attract top talent, including providing guidance if needed for recruitment of Store Leaders.

Drive workforce planning in Region(s) and creates and manage programs to support.

Monitor and implement action plans within Regions and Districts to positively affect engagement and retention.

Training

Create and deliver formal and informal training on HR-related topics such as leadership, diversity, engagement, performance management, EEO etc.

Educate and ensure a clear understanding and compliance by field leadership on programs and processes.

Research, develop and collaborate with team to create and maintain performance management and training tools (guides, reviews, etc.).

Compliance

Assist store and regional leadership in interpreting, understanding and applying company policies and procedures, as well as state/federal laws and regulations.

Ensure that strategies and processes comply with company policies and procedures, state/federal laws and regulations, and company culture.

Counsel field leadership on disability accommodations, ensuring accommodations are appropriate and documented.

Work with benefit team, and field leadership to address issues related to complex leaves of absence.

Provide guidance to ensure compliance for I9s, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO.
