ROLE SYNOPSIS

This position leads the mechanical maintenance department in the Sand Springs, OK chemical production facility. You will be the SME for the repairs of mechanical process equipment and provide project support by providing direction as needed. You will occasionally manage contractors for maintenance and project work. You will interact with all groups including department and plant managers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supervises employees who perform maintenance and install equipment used in chemical process operations.

Monitors, reinforces and over sees health, safety and environmental (HS&E) performance of department and employees.

Identifies, selects, assigns and supervises contract personnel who perform specialized maintenance work or who supplement department work.

Monitors progress of employees in terms of skills training and identifies/assigns specific training as required.

Assists with the scheduling of daily and monthly routine and preventive maintenance activities as well as working with operations department to determine scheduling of equipment that requires a shutdown.

Utilizes the computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) for work order resolution, equipment information and preventive maintenance requirements.

Supervises warehouse attendant, ensures accurate spares inventory and constantly assesses adequacy of spare parts inventory.

Works closely with equipment vendors and suppliers on identifying and ordering specialty equipment or parts, resolving chronic or acute equipment issues and objectively reviewing vendor or supplier performance in terms of service quality and timely response.

Evaluates and gives performance feedback both informally and through the use of the formal performance management software system.

Facilitates conflict resolution within the department as well as with external departments and work groups.
