POSITION PURPOSE
Home Depot Interiors is responsible for the Sales and Manufacturing of premium Kitchen and Bath remodeling products offered in over 45 major markets. Working with a team member, the associate will assemble the cabinet using all pre-cut materials following the blue prints and job specifications which have been provided. All parts of the cabinet are put together using various hand tools. Once the cabinets are assembled, the assembler puts in the shelves, face frames and other items. Upon completion, the cabinet is placed on the appropriate pallet designated by market. 

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Organize parts of cabinet to be assembled.
  • Following job specifications, assemble cabinets using blueprints and job specifications. This includes placing cut stretchers and toe kicks, and stapling shelf standards and clips.
  • Place finished product on pallet.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

NATURE AND SCOPE
Position Reports to: Shift Supervisor No direct responsibility for supervising others. 

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness. 

TRAVEL
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Age: 18 
Must pass drug and background tests. 

EDUCATION REQUIRED
Minimal or no educational requirements for this job. 

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE -1 

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS 
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds). 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively through the shift. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, use hands and arms to handle and maneuver hand tools and countertop. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience using hand and power tools. Prior experience working as a cabinet assembler, cabinet maker or interior woodworking. Prior experience using a staple gun and pneumatic screw gun would be helpful. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
* Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings. * Mathematical skills. * Ability to use tape measure and interpret various measurements. * Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to maneuver materials. * Ability to lift 50 pounds.
