POSITION PURPOSE
Home Depot Interiors is responsible for the Sales and Manufacturing of premium Kitchen and Bath remodeling products offered in over 45 major markets. The Final Inspector is responsible for completing the final inspection of all 5 piece cabinet doors, drawer fronts, counters and other items for any defects or flaws. If product does not meet job specifications, the associate is responsible for pulling the product from the line to ensure quality standards are being met. 

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Inspects all products after being cut and machined. Includes comparing color, size and style to job order specifications.
  • Measure all pieces to ensure accurate sizing.
  • If there is a defect in the piece, the associate will try and repair it. If it is not repairable, they will remove the piece from the order and initiate a replacement.
  • Reports all rejects to supervisors in order to correct the error.
  • Informs management of recurring problems.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness. 

TRAVEL
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Age: 18
Must pass drug and background tests. 

EDUCATION REQUIRED
Minimal or no educational requirements for this job. 

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE -1
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES - None 

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS 
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds). 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Be able to distinguish variances in color. Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to maneuver materials. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
— Previous HDI plant experience such as a packer would be preferred. — Experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing facility.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
— Ability to focus on extreme detail to determine possible flaws in product. — Ability to read instructions and product documentation. — Basic mathematical skills. — Verbal and written communication skills. — Ability to use tape measure and interpret various measurements.
