Sr IT Developer

POSITION PURPOSE -

As a Software Engineer in Test at The Home Depot you can expect to build flexible and scalable solutions while working on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures and object oriented programming.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Develop and analyze master test plans, test cases, test schedules & test scripts from Analysts and Associates. Identify and thoroughly analyze defects, issues, risks, and action items along with identifying the business requirements & the system requirements as part of the project team. Define and track quality assurance metrics. Monitor & instruct team members on proper procedures to ensure team compliance. Provide status reports to Manager on development projects. Sign-off on test strategy, test development, and test results prior to implementation into production. 

NATURE AND SCOPE - Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance 

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Hands on Java Development experience
• Proficient in Ab Initio ETL and Batch testing
• Hands-on knowledge of Soap UI, ITKO Lisa, and Selenium
• Hands on experience with Unix, KSH, and Bourne Shell Scripting
• Strong scripting knowledge with Java, Groovy and Jmeter
• Strong development experience working on web services (REST and SOAP)
• Experience building test automation frameworks for web services using Soap UI, Groovy, or Lisa
• Proficient in SQL
• Working knowledge of SVN and Jenkins – build and development process

EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED. 

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 3 

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Solid experience coding in programming languages. Solid experience with IT environments. 5-7 years of Q/A experience. Proficient in performance tools. BS Computer Science or related field. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - Solid working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies. Familiarity with the Mercury Interactive Product Suite. The ability to successfully, professionally, and diplomatically interact with others and develop relationships with people in the organization.
