The Data and Analytics Solution Architect will define, design and implement complex data solutions for mission critical information capabilities. You will collaborate with IT, BI, data science, data engineering, data warehousing to build a customer intelligence data platform as an enterprise service in support of Home Depot’s personalized digital experiences.

Specific responsibilities for the Data and Analytics Solution Architect position include:

  • Drive data strategy from design through implementation in a fast changing, innovative online retail environment.
  • Gather business requirements and create design artifacts as well as packaged Big Data service offerings for multiple downstream end points and applications
  • Project management responsibilities including facilitating multiple enterprise IT and data engineering work tracks, managing clients’ expectation, managing issues & risks to assure on-time delivery
  • Work with 3rd party vendors & solutions to accelerate key platform capabilities while assisting in in-house development of core capabilities
  • Provide solid data governance and documentation to end users, actively engage and develop local data user community

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- 20% Lead conversion planning and forecasting on a weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual level.
- 10% Communicate opportunities to drive financial goals cross-functionally by making suggestions that support site-wide objectives
- 10% Prioritize and manage execution of requests for report enhancements and analysis from business partners.
- 20% Responsible for presenting analysis and test results and resulting recommendations to peers and senior management. Leverage data to assist in defining site enhancement requirements and be able to present a compelling business case for securing those investments
- 10% Manage web analytic project prioritization based on business needs.
- 10% Share leadership for the teams responsible for web analytics (reporting and analysis) and, over-time, structured site (A/B, MVT) testing
- 10% Draw reasonable and actionable conclusions from analytic summaries and recommend changes to existing policies and processes based on analytic conclusions and understanding of business requirements and drivers.
- 10% Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, methodologies and reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION REQUIRED
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 05

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of Big Data Enterprise Applications development experience in building scalable, high performance data platform in a Cloud environment.
- 5-10 years of Big Data & standard enterprise Database experience in data modeling, testing and deployment support. Proficiency in Hadoop, Hbase, Map Reduce, Hive, PIG, Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server.
- 1+ year experience and solid knowledge of architecting real time streaming & micro-batched data. Hands on experience with Spark, Storm, Kafka, Scala, Cassandra to support distributed computing applications.
- Strong experience in Java, REST, noSQL is preferred.
