About this job

Our General Managers assume responsibility for all functions of a Papa John's restaurant to ensure high quality products and customer service are delivered while maximizing restaurant profitability. This is accomplished by being a self-sufficient leader, making quality decisions and instilling pride and accountability in team members. Other responsibilities include the management of operations including the execution of all company policies, procedures, programs and systems, while complying with all federal, state and local laws and ethical business practices.

Our General Managers build a system of quality with team members, which ensures each delivered product meets Papa John's standards and accurately reflects the customer's order. He/she promptly responds to all customer concerns and issues, and solicits customer and team member feedback to improve restaurant operations and build brand loyalty. He/she will actively recruit customer-focused team members, maintain adequate staffing levels according to projected sales and properly orient and train team members to exceed customer expectations. Managers will build an atmosphere of teamwork, energy and fun.

Our managers manage profit goals and ensure food, labor and other controllable costs stay within budget and correct deviations by accurately using the PROFIT System. He/she will manage company's assets by keeping the restaurant clean, fully equipped and all equipment maintained.

Responsibilities:

This is accomplished by being a self-sufficient leader, making quality decisions, and instilling pride and accountability in team members. Other responsibilities include the management of operations including the execution of all Company policies, procedures, programs and systems. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ethical business practices.

What’s on the Menu?

  • Manage a restaurant team, recruiting new team members, maintaining adequate staffing levels, properly training team members, ensuring compliance with all Papa John’s policies and procedures, and coach to improve performance.
  • Provide an outstanding customer experience, including professionally and promptly responding to all customer concerns or issues. Solicit, share and utilize customer feedback to improve restaurant operations and build brand loyalty.
  • Motivate team to deliver quality service to all customers while promoting a fun, energetic, and collaborative environment.
  • Communicate, train and promote quality standards to restaurant team members.
  • Manage labor and food costs.
  • Execute cash management duties with POS and shift reports.
  • Management inventory to ensure adequate levels using the company’s systems and guidelines to minimize loss.
  • Manage company’s assets by ensuring the restaurant is clean, safe and organized and complies with safety and security standards at all times.

Critical Ingredients:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Serv-Safe/Local or State Food Service Certification preferred
  • Stable employment history
  • Two years successful restaurant management or supervision experience with salary progression preferred
  • Basic accounting including invoice reconciliation, debit and credit review, financial statement analysis
  • Cash management skills

Side Items:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a driver’s license valid under the laws of the state(s) where the team member works, proof of insurance, and satisfactory vehicle
  • Must be able to work long hours, scheduled or unscheduled, which will include nights, weekends, and as emergencies arise
  • Ability to successfully perform the job duties of all positions in the restaurant, including pizza delivery
  • Ability to manage with no supervision
  • Bilingual in certain markets
  • Work with phones, computers, fax machines and copiers
  • Non-exempt, hourly position
  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of a background check

An equivalent combination of experience and training may substitute for any of the listed position qualifications.
