Overview

Presbyterian Homes & Services - is offering an opportunity to start a career in healthcare where you can enrich the lives and touch the hearts of older adults.

We are offering this opportunity for ages 16 and older, to be interviewed for Resident Assistant position(s) at the GracePointe Crossing Campus in Cambridge MN. Those who are chosen will be awarded a scholarship to attend the Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide course at GracePointe Crossing in partnership with Anoka Technical College. Upon successful completion of this state approved course, students will take the state test to be officially placed on the state Nursing Assistant Registry and will start their employment at GracePointe Crossing campus. This is a great way to be part of an exciting and growing field with a host of opportunities. We curerntly have part time and full time positions available.

Deadline for applications is September 30th and interviews will take place at GracePointe Crossing Gables West the week of October 3rd through October 7th 2016.



Skills labs will be held in GracePointe Crossing Gables East: Saturdays and Sundays, Otober 29th and 30th and November 5th,6th, 12th and 13th from 8 am until 4 pm. There will also be two evening classes on Wednesday and Thursday, November 2nd and 3rd from 5 pm until 9 pm.


Clinicals will be held: Wednesday and Thursday, October 16th and 17th from 5 pm until 9 pm and Saturday and Sunday November 19th and 20th from 7 am until 2 pm.



State Test Date: Tentatively scheduled for Monday, November 21st

Responsibilities

The Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA (Resident Assistant) is responsible for the provision of high quality personal care and services to residents to support the Personally Designed Living choices of residents, while maintaining consistency with regulations and established best practices.

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a state approved nursing assistant training program and current certification in state(s) in which he/she practices OR successful completion of a home health aide instruction course and successful completion of home health aide competency testing to work in Home Care.
  • Demonstrated competencies in person-directed, elder/resident-directed practice, home building, critical thinking, teamwork, self leadership, and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with the PHS mission and operating philosophies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
