Job Description:
This position’s function is the repair and maintain all facility and operational equipment. This position has room for growth with potential to grow into the Maintenance Team Lead role.
Job Duties:
- Having knowledge in all areas in order to train journeyman mechanics in use of equipment
- Preparing work order estimates and determining what materials are needed for work orders prior to start
- Assisting in troubleshooting problem areas to pinpoint and address issues that arise in both mechanical and electrical varieties
- Preparing a team of several mechanics for a work order by determining and laying out all necessary materials for a particular work order
- Providing guidance over activities of mechanics working on your team
- Inspecting your areas of responsibility and preparing work orders as needed
- Recommending modifications to procedures to management team to improve workflow
- Maintaining responsibility for all equipment in designated areas
- Encouraging journeymen to practice all safety procedures
- Act as a member of emergency brigade in situations of fire, evacuations, and etc as required
- Ability to operate hand tools, powered hand tools, wood and metal working equipment, and gas/electric welding equipment
