General Contractor Assistant

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

College / Trade school preferred, but not required

Overall Responsibility:

Jointly responsible with the General Contractor for the overall success of the project. Responsible for meeting schedule and managing manpower and equipment on assigned project. Provides continuous hands-on field supervision of all construction operations, including subcontractors and other construction related personnel; directing them in the planning, scheduling, and execution of work on time, within budget, and with high standards of workmanship.

General Job Requirements:

• Attending all meetings (pre/ middle/ post construction)
• Superb attention to detail in finding the best suitable bidders for each project in relation to each trade needed
• Updating and providing week to week schedules and results
• Maintaining knowledge and information of current plans, specs and submittal data
• Foreseeing possible setbacks
• Planning and scheduling to ensure that the project progresses according to the timeline
• Scheduling manpower as needed and reporting crew labor hours on a weekly basis.
• Providing materials and/or supplies to projects in a timely manner.
• Supervising  work with the GC
• Continuously monitoring field performance
• Expediting receipts with all required information to the office for processing.
• Sending digital progress / documentation photos of construction on a daily basis to the GC and team
• Daily site walk-throughs
• Preparing all inspections and coordination for specific inspection area
• Scheduling all necessary inspections regularly.
• Ensuring job site safety, including that of the subcontractors and following the company’s safety manual prior to starting their work.
• Must be able to give direction and delegate tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also critical
• Maintaining positive relations with client or owners.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly job site.
