National Accounts Specialist

Job Summary

The National Accounts Specialist is responsible for managing inventory levels for a major, national Niagara customer to meet consumer demand and maximize sales. The incumbent must have a strong working knowledge of the customer inventory systems/technology and understand ongoing and upcoming promotions to ensure customer inventories are sufficient.

Detailed Description

  • Primarily responsible for monitoring customer inventory. Make recommendations/adjustments necessary to maintain inventory to sustain and grow sales
  • Understanding and being proficient in GRS, pricing or retail link systems is a big plus. This person should be able to understand how effectively maintain instock at store level by working in any of these systems.
  • Understand how to anticipate replenishment issues and be able to work in the Walmart system to correct, add or adjust purchase orders to keep stores instock.
  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Transportation, and Planning Dept. to communicate inventory needs and locations across the network to maximize efficiencies
  • Monitor sales figures and other key performance indicators, reporting outliers as appropriate
  • Negotiate directly and indirectly with and on behalf of internal and external customers, to identify and implement creative solutions and resolve issues
  • Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly reports for internal partners
  • Develop/run weekly reports for Walmart and/or Sam’s Club from Retail Link
  • Ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by Directors, SDM, internal partners, customers
  • Work with SDM, Planning, Customer Service, Transportation daily to improve inventory/information flow to customers
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Work Experience/KSA’s
  • Required:
    • 3-5 years – experience working with major retailer, managing inventory levels
    • 3-5 years – experience working with Retail Link/CPFR/Microsoft experience, or related experience
    • 3-5 years – experience handling multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
*experience may include a combination of work experience and education

  • Preferred:
    • 5-7 years – Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
    • 3-5 years -- Understanding customers replenishment system is ideal. Knowing GRS system and retail link is a big plus.
    • 5-7 years – experience working with Retail Link/CPFR/Microsoft experience, or related experience
