The Planner/Scheduler position is responsible for utilizing a CMMS system to coordinate all planned maintenance activities with the goal of improving operating profit, improving equipment reliability, quickly returning equipment to its design capability, and maximizing equipment availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish, improve, and maintain a CMMS system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of new and decommissioned equipment.
  • Responsible for reviewing and maintaining all incoming work requests to ensure timely planning and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with Parts Room to ensure proper inventory of spare parts and to manage internally repaired and manufactured parts.
  • Collaborate with production scheduling to provide adequate time to make planned equipment repairs.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding planned work.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding open work orders to be performed.
  • Prioritize, plan, schedule, and distribute work orders.
  • Conduct audits regarding work order completion and daily execution of task.
  • Responsible for reviewing work request and creating work orders.
  • Ensure that all required material, labor, and contract services are available before scheduling work.
  • Schedule maintenance activities of all trade and service people.
  • Collaborate with other Production and Maintenance to coordinate shutdown work.
  • Maintain awareness and proactively manage all factors contributing to KPI's such as but not limited to:
    • Safety – Recordable and Lost Time Accidents
    • Equipment breakdowns and downtime
    • PM Completion percentage
    • PM and Line Change Over time deltas
    • Employee Development
    • Cost – Labor & Parts
    • Ratio of Preventative/Proactive Maintenance to Reactive Maintenance
  • Assist Reliability Engineers to troubleshoot process upsets/ incidents, identify root cause, identify courses of action, decide optimal course of action and actively manage corrective measures and/or solution implementation.
  • Coordinate scheduling, maintenance and production across departments to ensure optimal KPIs.
  • Communicate across departments and shifts about priorities, schedules, and ways to prevent future equipment malfunctions. Provide a documented diagnosis, case history and corrective actions outcome for all incidents.
  • Use various systems and tools (MS Project, Microsoft Office, CMMS/MP2) to optimize performance, communicate status/expectations, and manage PM/hours/parts.
  • Maintains the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history for all equipment.
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance-related problems. Initiates, implements, and manages the Maintenance program based on best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Technical or Engineering Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in leadership position preferred.
  • 3-5 years manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Must have strong analytical skills to review data and create actions to improve equipment OEE.
  • Must have functional knowledge of automated processes and machinery.
