Position Summary: Assists in human resource activities within the Distribution Center by supporting the department’s objectives. Provides advice, assistance and follow-up for associates in the Distribution Center on company policies, procedures and documentation. Coordinates the resolution of specific policy related and procedural issues and inquiries.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists in human resource activities to include employment, compensation, associate relations, benefits and training.
- Reviews applications/resumes; interviews job applicants, processes associates through hiring process, administers physical abilities tests, extends offers and schedules for orientation. Facilitates new hire orientations.
- Maintains necessary documentation and files regarding Associates and their hours/payroll. Maintains confidentiality with all records and information.
- Prepares, processes and distributes payroll/paychecks.
- Communicates annual benefits open enrollment information and timeline and facilitates periodic benefits orientation meetings. Responds and follows up to questions as needed.
- Provides assistance, follow up and responds to questions regarding Leaves of Absence policies and applicable disability resources.
- Responds to questions, researches and investigates situations for associates relative to benefits and payroll.
- Provides advice, assistance and follow up on company policies and procedures, and documentation.
- Recommends, maintains and provides feedback related to human resource databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
- Assists in the development and administration of associate related programs. (i.e. Wellness Programs, Safety Programs, Attendance Contests, AOM, Fundraising, Annual Recognition Banquet).
- Records and reports workplace injuries. Provides assistance and follow-up with injured associate and insurance carrier. Coordinates light duty assignments.
- Assists in conducting focus group meetings with associates and provide recap of results.
- Conducts exit interviews and attends unemployment hearings.
- Acts as HR representative on various committees.
- Acts as point person on special projects, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR.
- Working knowledge of software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and PeopleSoft.
