About this job

Manage all human resource programs such as employee recruitment and retention, compensation, policies and procedures and monitor training for all employees. Ensure company policy compliance and cultivate a positive work environment. This position supports the Crowne Plaza Columbus Downtown, The Lofts, and Max & Erma's on the Boulevard.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assists with recruiting and hiring all new associates.
  • Manage drug free workplace program and safety programs.
  • Develop and maintain employee retention and recognition programs.
  • Maintain policies and procedures as they relate to employment issues.
  • Supervise performance issues, disciplinary actions and terminations between managers and associates.
  • Helps manage safety program.
  • Assists corporate office in managing unemployment and workers compensation claims.
  • Perform an annual competitive wage and benefit analysis.
  • Develop and cultivate a positive work environment.
  • Promote and maintain Educational Assistance and Scholarship Programs.
  • Maintain communication boards throughout hotels and restaurants.
  • Maintain and develop wellness initiatives throughout the property.
  • Participate in community programs that improve and develop the workforce for downtown Columbus.
  • Perform weekly orientation program for all new associates.
  • Serve as member of Executive Committee to establish and implement hotel and restaurant standards to achieve maximum profitability and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong communication & organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Human Resource laws & regulations.
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving.
  • Planning and organizing.
  • Resource management.
  • Teamwork.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve complex HR issues in a confidential manner.
  • In-depth understanding and interest in providing exceptional internal-client (employee) based customer service.
  • Two or four year degree in Human Resources Management.
  • Two years experience in senior level human resources management position. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Hotel experience highly preferred.
