Division CFO - 1600085A Job Finance Primary Location United States-MA-MADedham Organization NeuroRestorative Description SUMMARY Reporting directly to the Operating Group President, and in a matrixed organization, to the CFO of the company, this CFO role leads the finance function for both NeuroRestorative and Adult Day Health. Serve as Chief Business Partner to the President, effectively translating the vision and the agreed upon strategic direction of the Finance organization’s efforts. Develop the analysis, monitoring, and metrics to enable the Division President and Operations Leadership to meet the objectives of that strategic vision. Essential Job Functions: Take the lead in developing value added analysis to optimize current operations and suggest new strategies for growth. Be an effective Leader, coach, and mentor 7-8 Finance professionals for NeuroRestorative and Adult Day Health service lines. Collaborate with division finance team and FP&A team to provide results, properly budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing results. Serve in liaison role with VP of Finance Shared Services which services all of the Operating Group’s financial transactions. Partner with the Operating Group President to continually monitor and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual results Generate management information to support better decision-making across the organization. This includes overseeing the preparation of budgets, rolling forecasts, and the long-range model. Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements for the business unit. (while core accounting will be handled in a centralized shared services organization, many critical judgments will continue to be made in the field including various reserve adjustments and cost reimbursement reporting and adjustments). Support reporting needs for the Board and Audit Committee Meetings. Ensure the implementation and maintenance of sound financial controls. Assume responsibility for the satisfactory conclusion and implementation of remedial actions for corporate internal and SOx audits. Work with Corporate accounting as necessary to optimize the successful processing of transactions in the Shared Services Center. Develop and implement methodology to support the growth and increased complexity of MENTOR’s business. Develop dashboard reporting to monitor financial metrics that benchmark operations and maximize efficiency. Establish specific milestones and associated detailed plans to ensure the long-term strategic plan is achieved. Position is located in our new Dedham offices; travel to state offices is a requirement of the job. Development: Play a key role in developing, analyzing, and integrating acquisitions for the Operating Group. Work closely with operations to identify, analyze, and secure approval for de novo projects (new starts). Oversee finance needs for growing business in senior services, Adult Day Health. Divisional Partnership: Actively participate in cross-functional leadership groups and initiatives. Serve on committees from time-to-time (along with the other three Operating Group CFOs) to provide counsel to the CFO on both internal and external matters. Management/Leadership: Lead and mentor the Finance team, including hiring, performance evaluations, onboarding staff, ensuring expectations and goals are clear Assess, develop, and recruit talent who can effectively support the complex and changing needs of the organization. Continue developing a Finance team that is viewed as a value added resources to the rest of the organization. Drive the transformation of the team to one that is focused on business analytics versus traditional accounting. Have a hands-on management style. Provide ongoing and rigorous evaluation of your team’s potential and performance. Since the CFO's team is spread out across the country, enhance communication and encourage the team to proactively identify issues that will facilitate problem solving and creativity. Provide strategic leadership and not be afraid to challenge the status quo to bring the group’s thinking to new levels. Have the confidence and presence to challenge the senior team intellectually and “push back” when appropriate. Think two or three years ahead, and then work backwards establishing milestones and course correcting steps as needed to achieve those plans. Qualifications EXPERIENCE Experience as a financial leader in a multisite service, distributed workforce. Human services or healthcare company is a strong plus but not required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA strongly preferred Proven ability to develop financial models and create/monitor financial metrics to benchmark operations and maximize company efficiency. Exceptional relationship management skills with an ability to establish rapport and credibility with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with public sector and/or complex, decentralized systems and processes is strongly desired. Strong written and oral communication skills. Exceptional analytical and project oversight skills; experience with analyzing metrics, setting benchmarks, and overall knowledge of best practices. Versatility is a key success factor: the ability to strategically operate at all levels within the organization and the ability to move between the strategic vision and the day-to-day tactical needs is a must.
