Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 1

Sodexo is seeking a Custodial/Environmental Services Manager in Austin, TX.  Come be part on innovation at St. David's South Austin Medical Center as we deploy Xenex, a mobile, robotic device that combats germs with blasts of UV light. As the HAI Prevention Coordinator you will organize and strategize the most effective and efficient methods in utilizing the Xenex disinfection machine, using HOSPITAL service manuals and guidelines. You will also be responsible for educating all hospital staff on the Xenex machine and the HOSPITAL HAI Prevention program.

 

The following is a partial list of the responsibilities of the HAI Prevention Coordinator:

1. Develops operational objectives in support of the hospital's HAI prevention plan.
2. Executes activities of the Environmental Services Department in accordance with client expectations, service requirements, and HOSPITAL goals and objectives. 
3. Implements and ensures execution of HOSPITAL Quality Management standards and procedures, compiles data and reports to appropriate client departments, HOSPITAL management and governmental agencies.
4. Develops and maintains an organizational structure and staffing schedules (within the Environmental Services Department of a client facility) to ensure effective execution of approved objectives.
5. Implements safety programs that teach equipment maintenance and accident prevention.
6. Executes company, client and legally required personnel programs and procedures, including related administration reporting and documentation.
7. Directs training sessions to ensure that each department member has been properly trained to use all products and equipment as outlined in the Policy and Procedures manuals for Environmental Services.
8. Serves as a resource and ensures communication for client administration, staff, and company personnel by communicating new industry, cleaning, laundry and operational trends.  Communication methods include participation on client committees and conducting department meetings and training sessions.
9. Develops and maintains professional client relations through formal and informal communication systems including meetings and reports, both verbal and written.
10. Works with Infection Control to monitor the HAI numbers for the hospital.
11. Develops priority levels with the Infection Control Practitioner to meet the needs of the facility.
12. Work with Xenex on customizing the correct standard operation plan (SOP) for the facility, and execute it to meet HOSPITAL services standards.
13. Support Environmental Services General Manager with reporting tools for the Infection Control and Environment of Care committees.
14. Attend bed management meetings (daily) to provide nursing with room turn time updates, and to receive possible and confirmed isolation room discharges.

Supervises hourly staff providing custodial service to client. Responsible for work force planning, Quality Assurance training and administrative functions for designated area. Typically reports to General Manager or Operations Manager.
