Material Handler - Full-time / Part-time

Role and Responsibilities

PrideStaff is seeking a material handler who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with their hands. The material handler must be capable of lifting both equipment and material either by hand or by use of machinery such as forklifts, fork trucks, or pallet jacks as necessary. This is a first shift position and pays $12/hr. with possible overtime and could become a temporary to hire opportunity!

Material handler duties include:

· Reading work orders and following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved

· Loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near determined area

· Opening containers by using steel cutters, crowbars, clawhammers, and other hand tools as necessary

· Making simple adjustments or repairs, such as realigning belts or replacing rollers

· Securing lifting attachments to materials and conveying load to destination

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The material handler candidate needs to know how to use and be comfortable with using a forklift for everyday tasks. Two years’ experience in a warehouse or general labor setting is required.

Additional Notes

The material handler candidate needs to be capable of lifting weight that does not exceed 50lbs. (unassisted) on a regular basis.
