FOOD SERVICE WORKER

Job Summary:

The FOOD SERVICE WORKER is dedicated to meet the mission and vision of the facility, district and

client. The FOOD SERVICE WORKER will be competent in all aspects of their station, prep for that

station, maintaining their work area, and customer service standards associated with the

position. The FOOD SERVICE WORKER will attend all mandatory training that help them understand the

vision of the facility, district and client. The FOOD SERVICE WORKER will be trained in Customer Service, Food Safety, General Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Proper Cleaning Procedures and Safe Food Practices. The FOOD SERVICE WORKER will report to their shift supervisor or department director on time and in proper uniform each day before beginning their shift and when clocking out to go home each scheduled workday.

Job Specific Duties:

This is a list of specific duties associated to this job title. This list is including but not limited to the following items:
  • Clean and Sanitize all items used to operate kitchen, including: pots, pans, plates, glasses, tongs, scoops, sheet pan, hotel pans, cutting boards, food storing containers, etc.
  • Take out trash, put away deliveries, clean floors and walls of operation, stock paper towel dispensers and hand soap, fill up fountain soda machine and salad bar/stations with ice, etc.
  • Complete production sheet, HAACP Logs, cleaning lists, participate in daily production meetings and any other paper work assigned
  • Maintains sanitary conditions of kitchen and report any maintenance or equipment problems to Chef, supervisor’s or managers
  • Responsible for the safety of food
  • Date, label and store all leftovers
  • Use old before new (first in, first out)
  • Follow posted cleaning schedule, clean all equipment and tables with proper cleaning solution after each use.
  • Clean ovens, fryers, and steamers as instructed. ALWAYS CLEAN AS YOU GO
  • See Chef for special instructions on prep work or cleaning requirements
  • Ensure all frozen items that need to be thawed, are pulled
  • Ensure that gloves are changed after each task
  • Ensure that sanitizer buckets are available and used daily
  • Ensure that waste buckets are available and used daily
  • Ensure that thermometer is calibrated when you clock in
  • Ensure that guests are served within 2 minutes
  • Ensure that all operating standards are being followed daily


Position Responsibilities:
  • Medium to heavy lifting (20-50lbs), ability to walk, bend, lift, and be on their feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend English.
  • Must be able to show courtesy to all clients, customers and fellow employees as well as continually demonstrate that knowledge of customer service standards and its requirements in a workplace setting.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment
  • Maintain a clean, compliant, and orderly work station
  • Follow the established food handling procedures
  • Follow the establish policies and procedures
  • Know the facility departmental routines during any emergency situation
  • Know the location of and how to access hazardous material information and equipment
  • Be kind and courteous to fellow employees, clients, and customers
  • Keep the storage areas clean and organized
  • Maintain clean equipment per facility department standards
  • Completes their daily assignments on time and according to facility departmental procedures
