About this job

Supports the successful development and delivery of Target's major Store Design/Architecture programs, including: New and Remodel Stores, Flexible Formats, Next Gen, Starbucks, Special Projects, Sustainability Programs, Innovation, and Property Management support. Coordinates the design & documentation phase execution of programs, leveraging internal partners and managing external consultants as necessary. Develops necessary collaboration & reference tools & processes to enable cross-functional teams to successfully execute design programs.

As a Lead Architect - Project Execution, you will use your skills, experience and talents to:

• Create and/or manage solutions that consider efficient construction methods, meet budget requirements, and remain true to the original design intent

• Rapidly develop and iterate design concepts that integrate leadership and/or peer feedback

• Manage the design & document production processes with external consultants; ensuring projects remain on-schedule and within established budget

• Manage coordination, schedules, project documentation, permit tracking, & issue resolution with internal partners and external consultants for assigned programs

• Monitor scope requirements, documenting approved change requests, and coordinate implementation of changes across assigned projects and programs

• Act as primary liaison between design consultants (Architecture & Engineering), and internal stakeholders (including Target Architecture, Engineering, Store Planning, Construction)

• Support onboarding, training, and evaluation processes for assigned consultant partners

• Identify and propose ideas for process improvement or design strategy

Requirements:

• 4-10 years in Retail Architecture/ Engineering/Construction Industry Experience

• Professional Architecture Degree - BS/BA/BArch

• MArch or MBA Preferred

• Experience executing projects/programs with significant cross-functional representation

• Excellent visual communication skills

• Ability to work with others, or independently with minimal supervision

• Proficiency in relevant computer design applications (Sktetchup, 2D CAD, 3D Modeling/Rendering, Revit, PhotoShop, Illustrator, other)

• Experience in construction document preparation preferred

• Retail-focused owner/operator-side experience preferred
