Unit Description

Sodexo's School Services Division is seeking a enthusiastic and motivated Executive Chef 2 at Academy School District 20, located in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will report directly to the General Manager and will oversee a team of kitchen managers and lead cooks in a non-unionized team of 170 employees.

Colorado Springs, at an elevation of 6,035 ft., is a city in Colorado at the eastern foot of the Rocky Mountains. The city's Garden of the Gods park features iconic red-sandstone formations and mountain views.  Colorado Springs is alos the home of the United State Air Force Academy.

 

Our ideal candidate will be a strong leader with proven client relations, culinary and food production skills and the ability to effectively lead a team of front line staff to accomplish multiple priorities.  Experience with marketing and retail cafeteria operations desired.

 

Day to day, this role will be responsible for serving the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs, and overseeing cafeteria operations at approximately 30 schools.

Position Summary

Designs, supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel in a medium to large account. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, oversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May cook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and cooks reporting to this position.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
