As an IT Program Director, you'll work to not only challenge the status quo, but change it. If your heart starts pounding when you realize the impact projects will have on people, you have found the right place to help heal the health care system.  This is a highly visible role in need of a dynamic professional. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of large and complex projects across various functional areas and/or organizations. Expertise required in project management with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels in the organization and drive results in a matrix environment with a high degree of change, growth, and ambiguity.
Primary Responsibilities:

Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business and technology objectives
Direct cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams
Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project work efforts
Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the stated deliverables through the use of structured project management processes
Responsible for assembling project plans, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews, and escalating issues appropriately
Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of the customers
Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort being managed
Immediate Goals:

Understand project management standards, processes, and procedures for Optum Technology
Build relationships with key Business and IT Stakeholders
Deliver a shared services IT project that supports Local Care Delivery 
Long Term Goals:

Build Local Care Delivery domain expertise and knowledge
Manage a team of project managers to deliver a portfolio of programs
Provide leadership in building and advancing the LCD Program Management Office

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
9 + years Project Management experience in a large enterprise environment
9 + years technical experience in one or more aspects of Information Systems
Budget tracking and complex cost benefit analysis $3-5M or more
Ability to build and manage relationships across a large enterprise
C-level interface and presentation skills
1+ years of Healthcare industry knowledge and UHG process background
Project Management Office process implementation & re-engineering
Must be based in MN, CT, MA or another UHG hub or spoke office.
 

Preferred Qualifications:
PMP Certification
Infrastructure experience
Project Management Consulting experience
Data analytics experience
Agile/Scrum knowledge as a Scrum Master
Solid analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills
Exposure to multiple PM methodologies
