Job Overview:

The Seasonal Recruiter is responsible for making connections within the community to generate applicant traffic, positioning Macy’s as the employer of choice. In addition, this position will champion our associate referral process by working with the stores leadership team to build and maintain a culture that places the recruitment of talent as a priority to filling job opportunities within our stores.

Perform other duties as assigned. This position is based out of Boston.

Essential Functions:

• Leverage existing partnerships within the community to generate applicant traffic (i.e. workforce centers, colleges, universities, etc.)
• Network with our associate population to determine other talent pipelines within the community not yet being leveraged, while at the same time soliciting their support in getting referrals to apply to Macy’s.
• Work with National Employment Director to understand marketing opportunities available to attract quality candidates.
• Generate excitement within the store around our seasonal referral incentive process. Communicate the incentive at store wide rallies and through one-on-one conversations. Track and communicate the success.
• Work with National Director of Employment to assess pain points and leverage new and existing relationships in order to meet hiring needs.
• Ensure store maximizes all the employment resources (invited and future schedule, benched report, postings are fresh and an accurate reflection of what remains to be filled).
• Provide insights to National Director of Employment on market challenges and make recommendations on steps Macy’s should take to be competitive.
• Understands the competition and what they are doing to attract talent. Seek out best practices.
• Track results specific to recruitment efforts.
• Respond to all appropriate client requests with a high sense of urgency
• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• Minimum 2-3 years in a leadership role with strong interpersonal skills.
• General knowledge of the labor market and the conditions that contribute to the hiring challenges.

Communication Skills:

• Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Reasoning Ability:

• Detail-oriented.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to quickly change priorities on a moment by moment basis.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee will need to stand for long periods of time, carry, Lift and set up materials, up to 25 pounds.

Work Hours:

• This position requires travel within the market area. No out of town travel required. Mileage reimbursement provided.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
