The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Principal Engineer for our Network Services and Automation Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Develop new architectures and designs to support growing our Business Services portfolio and revenue with a focus on Internet and Managed products.
2. Lead throughout the full development lifecycle, including: review of product requirements, creation of the solution architecture, oversight of engineering development, solution verification testing, commercial network integration and planning, with ongoing support for commercial network operations as needed.
3. Leverage evolving network automation technologies such as Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) to improve efficiency and lower costs for existing services and processes as well as enable future service and product offerings.
4. Develop and articulate a technology strategy for management that provides clear direction on network services and automation opportunities to scale and maintain a large service provider network.
5. investigate new technologies, with awareness of future commercial services, operational needs, how to increase performance and scalability, while simplifying and reducing the cost of technology solutions.
6. Work closely with other TWC Commercial groups including Commercial Network Planning and Integration to ensure alignment of commercial priorities.
7. Mentor Engineers within the Network Service and Automation team.
8. Represent Time Warner Cable at external industry forums, events and standards organizations in related technology fields.

Job Requirements:
1. Seven to ten years of relevant work experience preferably with a large Internet Service Provider or MSO
2. Experience with solutions architecture for both Enterprise and Carrier customers is required.
3. Experience leading vendor RFIs and RFPs, defining technology requirements and solutions.
4. Solid understanding of relevant technologies including IEEE, MEF, Cablelabs and ITU standards.
5. Knowledge and experience with wireless networking, routing, switching, peering technologies, voice communications, L2VPN and L3VPN services, network security, virtualization, cost modeling, relevant protocols and technology considerations is essential.
6. Previous experience with network automation and virtualization projects.
7. Experience leading vendor RFIs and RFPs, defining technology requirements and solutions.
8. Experience presenting solutions to internal and external customers is required.
9. Minimum Bachelors Degree in a technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Open Stack, ODL, ETSI/MANO, NFV/SDN, Lifecycle Service Orchestration, Systems Administration
Cisco, Alcatel or Juniper network certifications are preferred

Education and Experience:
Master's degree (M.A. or M.S.) or higher; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Lead: Assigns, trains, schedules or oversees work of others.

Travel 10 %
