Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, provides routine assistance in the preparation and service of meals, sanitation, and/or kitchen maintenance.
Primary Duties (vary based on the working titles above, but include):
1. Assist with the preparation and service of food - following department policies, recipes and portions, including short order grilling, frying, sauteing, pizza making, sandwich making, baking, scooping ice cream, preparing made-to-order beverages and carving.
2. Operate a computerized Point-of-Sale System.
3. Wash dishes, pots, pans and service ware manually or utilizing automated equipment.
4. Maintaining safe and sanitary conditions for cooking, serving, dining, storage and general work and dining areas, including mopping, cleaning bathrooms, sanitizing equipment, removing trash, compost and recycling, moving furniture and equipment and other safety and sanitation duties as required.
5. Provide outstanding and inviting guest service and hospitality.
Minimum Performance Expectations:
1. Guest Service - Provide a friendly welcome and smile to all guests, show a sense of urgency to guest service
2. Cooperation and Team Work - Assist co-workers and supervisors without being asked to do so, Promptly respond to instructions from supervisors
3. Communication - Informs supervisors immediately of any problems or issues in the unit, responds to guests' questions or concerns
4. Attendance and Punctuality - Reports to work according to schedule, punches in and out in full uniform, follows call-in procedures
5. Quality of Work - Maintains a clean and neat work station, asks questions, follows all Health and Safety policies, procedures, rules and laws
6. Quantity of Work - Utilizes all equipment effectively and efficiently, moves quickly and with a sense of urgency, completes work in allocated time
7. Job Knowledge - Understands and follows basic principles of safe food handling, understands and follows policies and procedures, asks questions if not clear of a direction or task
8. Sustainability - Minimizes the use of electricity, gas, water and steam; keeps refrigeration doors closed when not in use, participates in appropriate waste separation procedures
9. Diversity - Respects all guests and co-workers and treats them fairly and with dignity regardless of their age, religion, personal appearance, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, physical or mental status, and political beliefs.
