Special Event Security Officer

Requirements and Competencies
* Must be at least 21 years old

* Must have a minimum of 3 years concert security experience

* Ability to walk, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods of time
* Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

*  Must be able to distinguish shapes and colors in low light
* Must have excellent situational awareness and the ability to demonstrate attention to detail
* Must be able to work any Arizona State Fair concerts

* Must be able to complete all required venue and industry specific training prior to start of Fair

Desired Qualifications
* Possession of a valid Arizona Security license, but not required
* Previous guest service or hospitality experience
* Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
* Ability to exercise discretion and authority when required

Responsibilities
* Interact with guests and other Arizona State Fair team members to ensure a secure environment exists without incident

* Screens guest's belongings to include bag check, pat downs, and wand metal detection prior to entering the Fairgrounds   

   and Coliseum

* Assist Customer Service Representatives as necessary for the safety, security and well-being of Fair   

  guests, team members and artists during concerts

* Provide guests with accurate event and venue information

* Assists Customers Service Representatives in greeting and directing guests to seating and services

* Remains alert for the presence for crowd management situations

* Assists Customers Service Representatives in maintaining open and smooth access routes throughout seating and floor areas
* Attends and participates in pre-event briefings
* Aids in direction of orderly evacuation of the building during emergencies.
* Identify and report unusual events or behaviors to supervisors or managers
* Maintain complete confidentiality and professionalism at all times
* Complete incident reports as necessary

Work Environment:

*The noise level during events may be very loud

*The environment is energetic and fast-paced

*The areas will become crowded with many people
