POSITION PURPOSE - Execute the analytics for both offline and online marketing channels and campaigns to support company growth and profitability. Execute analytics, customer reporting , test setups, and frequent ad-hoc querying. Grow the insight of customer behavior and its relationship to marketing, merchandising, and trends in a direct retailer environment. Fulfill customer list requests. Provide timely, detailed analysis of marketing test results, promotions, and strategic marketing initiatives. Serve as a key company resource for customer and ad-hoc analytics (including data manipulation and/or modeling). Create and execute market research, and surveys. Support marketing efforts through analysis of multichannel buying behavior.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- 40% Support the Managers and Sr. Managers in proposing, designing, and executing primary research in support of the company's strategic objectives.
- 30% Support the Managers and Sr. Managers in managing the execution of tracking studies for both the core retail business and the home services business.
- 30% Review and communicate key insights from secondary/syndicated information sources in support of company's strategic objective-including POS data, market share data, tracking studies, demographic data, industry studies and customer trend data.
NATURE AND SCOPE
- Position reports to Mgr Consumer Insights
- No direct responsibility for supervising others.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be eighteen years of age
- Must pass the Drug Test
- Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
EDUCATION REQUIRED
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 04
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be adept in Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly collaborative team player who is focused, self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to adapt to changing priorities and tight timelines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Math, Marketing, or equivalent
- Marketing analytics experience (circulation planning or modeling a plus)
- Proficient SQL query skills a must
- Previous retail experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage external suppliers to deliver actionable insights in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Consulting skills, including the ability to define the needs of internal clients and link outcomes to objectives
- Analytical skills, including the ability to assimilate extensive amounts of detailed data and to see the big picture, providing actionable/influential recommendations
- Quantitative reasoning skills, including the ability to work with numbers and to summarize quantitative data in graphical or tabular forms
- Thought leadership skills, including the ability to recognize trends/opportunities and formulate hypotheses and recommendations relevant to the business
- Written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to present complex (and potentially controversial) information to senior executives
