IKEA Food Service Co-worker

ABOUT THE JOB
I work to support sales and convert visitors to customers by fulfilling the purpose of our function. YOUR ASSIGNMENT
Your tasks will include

• Provide guests with positive shopping/dining experience by ensuring guest convenience standards are met or exceeded.
• Prepare and maintain menu items following the IKEA Food concept according to specifications using approved ingredients and in accordance with health standards.
• Service guests on the food line and in the dining room.
• Be cost conscious through controlling waste preparing correct portions, production levels and cooking methods.
• Completed daily production sheets for hot (or cold) food production.
• Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative cleaning and maintenance.
• Communicate ordering and inventory needs.
• Maintain basic actions including a clean, organized work are following waste management guidelines
• Coordinate and execute sampling programs according to the Commercial Calendar.
• Perform guest flow studies and maintain Swedish Food market area including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining utensils and equipment for sampling areas
• Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating and communicating needs; insuring FIFO and best before dates.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of Restaurant/Staff Café dining tables, chairs and floors.
• Ensure an adequate supply of serving and cooking utensils and equipment is available at all times.
• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware in a properly maintained dish machine and wash and sanitize pots, pans, and utensils by hand.
• Perform Dish Room opening and closing routines as assigned.
• Take dishes and carts to kitchen area and return carts to dining areas.
• Keep storage areas and walk-in closets clean and organized
• Remove and empty trash following waste management and environmental policies.
• Promote a safe and secure working environment for fellow co-workers, and guests by reporting any safety hazards, concerns or ideas for improvement.
• Follow food handling, health, safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations and guidelines.
• Following IKEA ASR Rules & Guidelines when performing my responsibilities on a daily basis.

YOUR PROFILE

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
• Experience in full service restaurant or institutional food service establishment or equivalent high volume fast-paced retail experience
• Good guest service, and verbal communication skills
• Basic mathematical ability
• Willingness to share knowledge and learning
• Knowledge and interest in Food and Home Furnishings
• Effective verbal, written and reading skills in the English language
