What a GREAT opportunity I have available. A very good customer of mine is seeking an Apprentice Tech to come in and learn their business. This tech would get to work on some of the best Food Packaging equipment there is today. I am targeting an energetic person with strong Mechanical skills that wants to learn a trade. Long-term this role could move into a Field Service role for the company.

My client an Automated Food Packaging Company that has been in business for 40+ years is looking to grow their Hands-on Technical group. This company engineers and assembles custom packaging equipment for their clients all across the U.S.

In order to be successful in the Apprentice Tech role, the the ideal candidate will need to perform the following; will be responsible for working in the shop to perform machine troubleshooting, repair, modifications and rebuilds of custom automated packaging equipment. Work with Field Technicians and shop personnel to perform sub-assembly and final-assembly before machines are sent to client. Report back to the Technical Manager or Customer Service Coordinator with progress of assemblies. The goal of this job is to learn and progress to the point that in 6+ months this person could transition into full-time Field Tech role.

In order to be qualified for this role, we are seeking someone with the following qualifications; Technical School or College training in mechanical or electrical technology. Very good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain a professional attitude with customers and co-workers at all times. Capable of operating the following equipment; personal computer, volt meter, AMP meter and Oscilloscope and hand tools such as; drills, taps, levels, squares, center punch, scribe. Additional skills to have knowledge of include; AC/DC, inputs and outputs, motors and drives and must be able to upload and download programs from a computer.

This is a first shift position between the hours of 8-5 and is a 32hr schedule (will work out a schedule). This is ideal from someone currently in school, but if done school that is fine as well, but will need to be okay only working 32hrs a week.
