Description

The Customer Marketing Manager empowers the National Accounts Sales Team by collaborating with the sales-lead and their account’s marketing management to deliver volume-driving marketing solutions that mutually benefit Dr Pepper Snapple Group and our customers.

The Customer Marketing Manager will collaborate with Dr Pepper Snapple Group's field sales team to convert insights into account-specific marketing plans with the intent to influence and change purchasing behavior of specific guests and increase sales, including beverages.

This is a customer-facing position that requires excellent communication and presentation skills, healthy collaborative attitude and the ability to command thought leadership.

Location and Travel:

This role is office based in our Plano, TX headquarters and requires up to 30% travel for conventions, meetings and to accounts.

This position reports to the Director of Marketing, Fountain Food Service.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Command of all components of the product/brand marketing mix with a focus on in-store merchandising, advertising and promotion.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain business relationships with the Account’s national and regional marketing leaders. Identify and maintain relationships with all key personnel within the Account’s marketing departments and agencies to maintain a current understanding of their business and operations to enhance our partnership. Support the Account’s plans to win.
  • Bolster Dr Pepper Snapple group brand equity and loyalty through the development of innovative immediate consumption programs that align with Dr Pepper Snapple Group's broader commercial objectives and cross-functional capabilities.
  • Cultivate partnerships with internal cross-functional teams in our company which includes; shopper insights, marketing, legal, category management, sales, customers, as well as internal and external agencies.
  • Develop ways to simplify or optimize account foodservice marketing processes that will drive business results for DPSGs total brand portfolio in profitable channels and priority categories.


How You’ll Spend Your Time:
  • Strategic Planning (20% of Time): Collaborate with DPSG field sales to write strategic business plans and program presentations for top accounts by leveraging account and consumer insights, DPSG brand plans, and channel & category strategy. Command a high level of persuasion and influence by demonstrating excellent communication skills to deliver presentations, initiatives and program ideas to accounts. Foster growth of underdeveloped accounts to drive results through new business, traffic, and incidence tactics.
  • Analytics (20% of Time): Empower DPSG field sales to pursue an array of selling opportunities. Work with category management, shopper & consumer insights and other teams and mine internal, external, primary and secondary data resources. Analyze and translate insights into sales narrative & actionable marketing plans. Provide subject matter expertise for all marketing programs and insights information. Implement pre and post program ROI analysis to determine if account and sales objectives were met or how they can be improved/optimized in the future.
  • Customer Relationship Management ( 15 % of Time): F ocus on b uild ing and maintain ing marketing, product development, and insights relationships (among others) with key customers. Collaborate with field sales to develop and maintain adequate call coverage (who/frequency).
  • Activation – National Accounts (30% of Time): Manage all aspects of marketing program development and merchandising materials to include, but not limited to, ideation, creative, program delivery, activation and fulfillment. Write creative briefs that give insightful direction to program teams and agencies that deliver sales results. Actively collaborate with FFS Marketing Coordinator to ensure integration of all elements of marketing mix, driving cohesive and impactful messaging, and trademark consistency in all communications.
  • Budget / Accountability Management (5% of Time): Management of marketing program budgets (sales-owned) and T&E expenses within guidelines. Keep all tracking documents current.
  • Coaching and Professional Development (10% of Time) Collaborate with FFS Marketing colleagues to provide ongoing education for coworkers and FFS Field Sales. Increase exposure within the organization through increased responsibility in data management as well as participation in market research and focus groups. Coach and mentor the FFS Marketing Coordinator.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a focus on Marketing, Business or similar
  • 5 years of progressive consumer marketing, sales, or agency experience preferably with a packaged goods company or within the foodservice industry
  • 5 years of MS Office products
