Bartender - Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center - Full-time / Part-time

Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center located in Lewis Center , Ohio  is searching for bartenders to work in both our Pub and Catering department. The job of a bartender involves preparing and serving drinks to clients in a bar setting: mixing new drinks based on customer orders, maintaining liquor stock and bar supplies, assembling food items, ringing up sales on point of sale system and ensuring customers meet the age requirements for the purchase of alcohol. Individuals may also be able to pick up bartender shifts in our catering department at the rate of $4.05/hour. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Takes beverage and food orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
• Mixing ingredients to prepare drinks.
• Pouring beer and wine to customers.
• Slice or pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
• Collecting payment and operating point of sale system.
• Balance cash receipts.
• Check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
• Assembling and serving food to all customers that meets product and HACCP standards.
• Able to keep work stations clean during the work shift.
• Stock all items that are on the menus daily, observer items for spec freshness and quality standard.
• Clean glasses, utensils and bar equipment
• Cleaning  up and tear down of all food items.
• Wipes the bar down after each shift.
• Communicate any shortages on food to the Chef.
• Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.
