Position Title: QC/Maintenance Team Member


Position General Overview:

This position is responsible for insuring timely updates to employee payroll and pay records, and for the day-to-day manual check process, and for providing oversight of the processing function to ensure that department policies and procedures are being followed. Position may also be called upon to help with payroll processing if needed and will participate in system testing and user training initiatives.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma required
  • Some college level business classes desired
  • FPC required (either at hire or within 18 months)
  • CPP desired
  • Minimum 2 years previous multi-state payroll processing experience required
  • Minimum 2 years previous garnishment administration knowledge required
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS version 8.5 of higher required
  • Knowledge of Kronos timekeeping system desired
  • Strong data entry experience required
  • Excel spreadsheet knowledge required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work schedule Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, with rotation every 2-3 weeks to work later shift to 8pm

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day input and review of various processing documents as needed (Prior Period Adjustment forms, pay-register, manual payline entries, W4’s etc.)
  • Maintain maintenance documentation according to department standards
  • Weekly reconciliation of confirmed payroll against an independent payroll calculation system
  • Ability to communicate with payroll staff/management to determine problem areas and level of QC needed
  • QC and printing responsibility for off-cycle checks and advices prior to mailing
  • Appropriately respond to employee helpdesk questions and concerns via email or phone
  • Maintain maintenance files for audit review
  • Perform peer review of assigned payroll queries/SQL’s for accuracy and completeness
  • Gather weekly production statistics and provide to group supervisor
  • Review monthly processing calendars for accuracy
  • Participate in corporate sponsored training efforts
  • Continuously monitor daily processes for efficiency
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned
