Diesel Mechanic

Our client is looking for a Diesel Technician on 'second-shift'. The key is the person must be open to work hours that shift typically between this timeframe 1PM-8PM. The hours will change demanding on customer and when their fleet will be not running. Candidates must have a flexible schedule to work weekends and some odd hours. Candidates will also be primarily working independently.

Our person will need to be capable of performing preventative maintenance, use diagnostic equipment, and perform brake repair (the most important part) on the trucks at the site.

Duties include DOT inspections for safety, break changes, oil changes, electrical repairs, possible engine repairs, cooling and heating systems, and potentially refrigeration repairs on some vehicles.

% Breakdown
50% on the road doing breakdown jobs. This means their client's trucks break down in Washington, DC and our mechanic will go out and figure out what is going on with the vehicle.
50% in the shop at Air Gas doing PM on the vehicles. Oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotation, engine repairs.
