We are looking for a Global Director for the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) Center of Excellence (CoE).

This person will provide a centralized group for EPMO standards and best practices across solution delivery towers, and drives consistency across IT portfolio.

We are looking for a visionary to advice and mentor on strategize process and to bring in tools, templates and governance into our EPMO.

We are a cross functional group who works with all domains in a matrixed organization. We are looking for a Director to be able to manage people, process, culture and to drive change and acceptance.

Major Duties/ Responsibilities
  • Provides end-to-end management and accountability for the COEs (PM, BA, Dev, QA and Estimation), Training and Continuous Process Improvement functions.
  • Establish new Communities of Practice for the Project Management, Development, and Quality Assurance.
  • Oversees the assessment of current project delivery tools, templates and processes to ensure consistent global processes and alignment with the SDP.
  • Ensure that all methodologies, tools and techniques align with all TJX adopted development methodologies.
  • Ensure improved project and product delivery by implementation of consistent global processes.
  • Oversee the development of reliable communication practices and vehicles for global knowledge transfer and information sharing across all the Communities of Practice.
  • Monitors performance metrics, measures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to ensure quality and operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with compliance, internal controls and audit teams to ensure effective operation of controls and compliance with corporate policies as well as industry and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct and direct research into emerging trends and technologies
  • Establish and maintain a shared access site for all COE/COP documents, templates, processes, training material and communications
  • Conducts performance appraisals of staff and provides career guidance through regular coaching.
  • Special projects as needed.
  • Makes personnel decisions including hire/fire, training, development, and disciplinary decisions when appropriate.
  • Maintains ability to share leading practices across the functional organizations
  • Provides a source for identifying experts in a domain area
  • Encourages knowledge sharing and skills development
  • Facilitates the rollout of new processes for respective CoP’s
  • Provides training materials on COE standards
  • Creates templates to facilitate adoption of CoE standards
  • Partner closely with the EPMO Partners and Tools & Methodologies groups to execute improvement efforts to improve EPMO performance
  • Support the enablement of the continuous improvement approach, methods and tools across EPMO
  • Continuously improve the EPMO program to achieve process maturity
  • 4 – 10 direct and 0 – 30 indirect reports
  • May manage very senior individual contributors
  • Manages associate compensation & professional services budget to plan for assigned team.
  • Provides recommendations and input into future year budget requests

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the full life cycle of software development methodologies as well as industry best practices.
  • Ability to foster and build relationships at all levels in a large, global corporate environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Strong written and presentations skills, with the ability to tailor information to the audience in a way that establishes rapport, influences others and gains understanding at all levels.
  • Recognized thought leader within TJX for one or more practices or technical capabilities within assigned domain
  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct multiple, geographically distributed work groups comprised of disparate skills
  • Strong performance management skills to include coaching, goal setting, holding team members across multiple levels and self-accountable for commitments
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work up and down the organization; able to influence others to achieve results
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with an attention to detail
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong desktop productivity suite skills. Able to use appropriate tools for metrics reporting and communication of data to senior management
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding and fluid environment; remains calm under pressure; demonstrates excellent conflict management skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Minimum Experience:
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT, 3+ years in a leadership role
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a combination of PM, BA, Development or QA role.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing and developing others.
  • Experience working in an organization with rapid growth and ability to design a solution that can easily handle organizational changes and restructuring of teams

Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree ( Information Technology, Business Administration, Accounting or related) or related experience
  • Master’s Degree (Information Technology, Project Management, MBA or related) preferred

Industry recognized certifications (PMP, Prince2, CBAP, etc.) preferred
