Automation Personnel Services has an immediate opening for an EH &S Technician. This is a 2nd shift position that pays $15.00 per hour with an increase at conversion. This position s primary job responsibility includes all aspects of the Environmental, Health and Safety programs at the Plant under the direction of the EH&S Specialist and Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinating the RCRA (hazardous and non-hazardous) for disposal manifesting and labeling waste materials.
Coordinate inspections for equipment cleaning prior to Preventative Maintenance being performed.
Audit all work permits (contractor, hot work, confined space ect.) as necessary to ensure compliance
Coordinate any potential emergency response activities and be the lead for our Emergency Action team.
Assist Maintenance personnel as needed. (This includes material handling, equipment removal, rigging, safety work orders etc.)
Assist EHS Specialist and management with weekly/monthly EHS meetings, EHS metrics, compliance monitoring and EHS training.
Assist EHS Specialist in responding to and documenting all EHS corrective actions arising from near misses, incidents, and recordable injuries. Work with plant to ensure timely closure of open items.
Performing or participating in EHS inspections (daily, weekly, monthly ect.).
Assist EHS Specialist with coordinating and complying with our Air Emissions, Storm Water, and Waste Water Management programs.
Assist EHS Specialist with the completion of reports required by governmental agencies.
Safety is every employee s responsibility. Follow all safety policies and procedures in accordance with policies and local, state, and federal laws.
Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas including equipment, tools, and work surfaces.
Use Lean/Six Sigma Methodologies to improve the process.
All employees will be required to participate in training and continuous improvement events.
Ability to work within a company registered/compliant to National and International Standards and Requirements, and contribute to those standards and requirements. For example: ISO, EICC, OSHA, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ensure plant employees are following Isola EHS policies and procedures.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Hazardous waste handling (RCRA).
Chemical handling.
Lockout / tagout.
Confined space entry.
Licensed lift truck operator.
ERT.
CPR / 1st Aid.
Personal protective equipment (Respiratory protection).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Three to five years EHS experience preferred in a manufacturing setting.
