Charter Communications currently seeks a/an Sr. Manager – Enterprise Video Product Development for our Spectrum Enterprise Video Group. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:
The Enterprise Video Product Development team is responsible for the end to end product development of Spectrum Enterprise video products. The Product Development team is looking for a Sr. Manager, Enterprise Video Product Development to develop and launch new enterprise video products and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify new product and service solutions with internal and external development partners to determine the best solution to fulfill product and business requirements. Serve as liaison between functional groups for product definition and product requirements for Enterprise Video services (including traditional linear and VOD cable services delivered using Set Top Boxes, Set Back Boxes, and Clear QAM).
  • Develop detailed product and business requirements for Enterprise Video services.
  • Drive the product development cycle, represent and champion the product during the development lifecycle. Drive internal and external teams to meet the goals outlined in the product development plans. Review and approve deliverables from cross functional teams. Develop Product Guide in preparation for launch. Develop and manage Product Certification testing, and support the product launch.
  • Identify product improvement areas and work cross-functionally to implement these improvements through development of clear functional requirements.
  • Communicate the product vision, requirements, progress/status and organizational needs within the company while delivering new products or product enhancements on-time and within budget.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this role will possess 3-5 years of experience in video product management or development, and/or consulting in a cross functional/matrixes organization in a telecom or cable organization. Specific requirements include:
  • Experience with commercial video services, including IPTV, cable TV, satellite TV, etc…
  • Experience writing product requirement documents covering product, features, business and functional requirements. Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams to develop video products and services. Ability to build interdepartmental relationships.
  • The candidate needs to be detail-oriented, have strong initiative and a sense of project ownership and accountability
  • Knowledge of product concept identification, requirements definition and lifecycle management.
  • 5+ years of business experience in a high technology/telecommunication services strongly preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a fast paced and changing environment with minimal direction and supervision. Strong personal work ethic is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA a plus.

Education and Experience:
Level 3: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Additional Educational Information (if any):
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT/Computer Sciences, Technology or Business. Masters degree in Business or Technology a plus. 5 years of related experience with a minimum of 3 years product management/development experience with a cable operator (MSO), satellite TV, television content provider.

The position currently has no formalized direct reports. Product Development Managers typically provide leadership and direction while heading up cross functional product development teams comprising staff from a variety of company functional areas, external vendors and consultants.
