As a Director, Construction you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the team responsible for construction and development of Aaron's retail stores to include new stores, relocations, remodels, expansions and major facility repairs. The Director will hold the same responsibilities for corporate facilities such as corporate offices, distribution centers, service centers, and manufacturing plants.

Job Duties:

Oversee and review the project budgets and timelines prepared by the Construction Managers.

Oversee the construction process of the stores (new, remodel, relocations, acquisitions and expansions) within the U.S. and Canada.

Supervise and manage a team of Construction Managers by hiring, training, coaching and mentoring them.

Oversee that the design standards and store planning processes are maintained.

Manage the architecture and construction of the company's facilities, office space, office buildings, distribution centers, factories, and service centers.

Work closely with the Design and Store Planning team and manage relationships with store operations and cross-functional departments.

Hire and Manager GCs and vendor relationships and facilitate value engineering processes, procedures and cost ideas.

Preferred Experience:

10 years of experience in store development and construction project management; preferably with a multi-unit retail company with an emphasis on new stores and remodels.

5 years minimum of management experience leading and managing team members, evaluating and selecting outside vendors and contractors

High School Diploma, but Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Construction Management highly preferred

Ability to travel 25-30% of the time.

Demonstrated supervisory, management and leadership skills, influencing both direct and indirect reports from a distance

Demonstrated project management skills with multiple projects

Strong understanding of the retail development and budgeting process.

Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors and team members at all levels of the organization and the ability to manage others.

Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems, identify solutions, recommend and implement methods, procedures and techniques for problem resolution.

Possess strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills; thorough attention to details; ability to prioritize and multi-task; proactive in approach and deadline-oriented

Knowledge and experience using network databases and Microsoft Office.

Must be able to communicate effectively, be customer service focused, and well organized
