  • Collaborate with Target's Product Design team to identify and source trends earlier
  • Develop and institutionalize holistic knowledge about Target's Home products, inclusive of artisanal and handicraft categories, to provide a global lens on economic impacts to product
  • Build and assess category matrix by influencing across multiple countries and internal, external, and overseas partners to achieve short- and long- term category strategies
  • Explore new Countries of Production for potential sourcing opportunities
  • Elevate current vendor, factory and Country of Production capabilities
  • Drive for speed in reduction of development time and supply chain in order to help Target be first to market
  • Guide and help drive Target's responsible sourcing initiatives with key vendors
  • Understand cottage industry production
  • Drive sourcing strategy to support strategic opportunities, global balance and help Target achieve our financial plans
  • Ability to influence top level leaders on building future strategy in sourcing

Requirements

  • 4-year degree
  • 7+ years relevant merchandising, design, and/or supply chain experience
  • Experience in handicraft or cottage industry goods is strongly desired
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to navigate new/ambiguous projects with little direction
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptually
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Experience working/partnering with design teams
