This senior database developer position involves Data Mart design, Data Modeling, Data source mapping, Production process troubleshooting, Database development, Source data reconciliations, ETL system development, ETL Administration, and SDLC/Design Documentation. Database structures/processes will be developed in Oracle PL/SQL involving various sources of data consisting of Health Plan claims: Medical, Pharmacy, Vision and Dental (to name a few). Informatica Power Center will be utilized for ETL processes where appropriate. Data Marts will be built and maintained to support BI reporting and strategic analyses.

Primary Responsibilities:


Contribute to the success of the OptumCare Data Management team

Design, develop, maintain, monitor and execute production ETL processes

Investigate production ETL issues / problems

Map database sources to specified data formats

Verify and validate ETL deliverables incoming/outgoing

Provide direction and mentorship to junior colleagues on topics related to Data Mart design and ETL  Deliverables        

Lead troubleshooting episodes and communicate solutions / resolutions to the team

Translate concepts to requirements, then design, and develop into an automated production process

Act as a subject matter expert for other team members on assigned processes

Complete projects and development activities timely and accurately while following the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Suggest changes and enhancements for processes

Maintain ongoing self-study program to enhance knowledge of PL / SQL development, Oracle RDBMS Best Practices and Informatica PowerCenter

Document hours of development activities by following SDLC and IS Change Management
 

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of professional experience in Data Mart design with Oracle 10g / 11g databases
3+ years of professional experience in SQL development (PL / SQL, T-SQL)
3+ years of professional experience with the ETL tool Informatica PowerCenter
Professional experience in Data Warehousing schema design  
Professional experience with production ETL operations and monitoring  
Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate Degree
Experience with SSIS
