(sm) The Senior Manager of Clinical Analytics is responsible for directing the development of innovative analytic solutions and leading analytical strategies to support population based health activities in a healthcare, Prescription Benefit Management setting. The Senior Manager of Clinical Analytics is responsible for executing and managing complex analytics initiatives and collaborating with the account management and clinical consulting teams to not only support, but also anticipate the analytic needs of clients.
 
This position will be accountable for ad-hoc and standard analytics, designing and executing advanced PBM analytics as well as leading a team responsible for performing trend analyses, identifying analytical insights, and presenting clinical and financial opportunities based on analytic insights to clients. Strong management skills are required as well as experience in complex analytics and enterprise projects utilizing pharmacy claims data are necessary. Primary Responsibilities:

Management and execution of Strategic Client Analytics including developing and delivering of ad-hoc and advanced analytics / solutions
Accountable for the management, triage, and quality assurance of ad-hoc clinical analytics requests including the management of clinical business advisors / analysts performing client analytics
Project management of team / departmental initiatives including the supervision of enhanced analytics projects to facilitate quarterly plan performance review analytics, Strategic Account Review evaluations, client insights, and comprehensive trend management and utilization forecasting
Execution and delivery of the through comprehensive prescriptive analytics
Management of strategies and interfacing with clinical consultants and account management teams to drive comprehensive client analytics, recommendation of clinical program solutions, identification of cost drivers, evaluation of clinical outcomes, and communication of program solutions and product upsell opportunities
Responsible for ad hoc client analytics including clinical program analysis / modeling as well as development and maintenance of analytical reporting that contains insightful, action-oriented information
Lead the team in presentation of key findings as well as cost / utilization drivers including identification of actionable insights related to the value in terms of clinical quality, cost outcomes and patient safety
Direct and manage the evaluation of industry trends (pharmacy / medical) and policies in order to anticipate and quantify impact to client, market segment, and book of business utilization and trends
Anticipate and lead the design efforts for enhanced analytical tools / models and strategies to quantify and / or mitigate associated trends
Spearheading process to interface with other internal teams including Product Development, Outcomes Research, Specialty and other team to facilitate corporate initiatives by providing analytical insights applicable to current program management as well as future program development
Support the initiation, development and implementation of solutions for enhanced clinical analytics including clinical model development, clinical outcome solutions, cost driver analysis and other clinical analytics/predictive modeling
Lead interaction with internal analytics teams to maintain and refine existing analytical models, forecasting tools, and other internal trend management tools
Manage the support of RFP and strategic client renewal related analytics
Interface and serve as liaison with other internal teams including Product Development, Outcomes Research, and other teams to provide analytical insights applicable to current program management as well as future program development
Support the initiation, development and implementation of solutions for enhanced clinical analytics including clinical model development, clinical outcome solutions, cost driver analysis and other clinical analytics / predictive modeling
Lead team meetings and on-going employee engagement, development and training initiatives
Performance of duties as required by Director and departmental needs

Requirements


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
5 years of relevant work experience leveraging pharmacy and or medical administrative claims data in a managed care or pharmacy benefits management setting
Foundational level of proficiency writing SQL database queries
Expert level of proficiency in MS Office tools specifically Excel and or Access
3+ years of progressive leadership experience with direct report/staff management responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree (such as: Statistics, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Decision Science) or MBA
Proven management and quantitative experience and ownership of projects
SAS experience
Excellent leadership as well as written and verbal communication skills are needed, including the ability to translate analytic concepts, approaches and results for executive or lay audiences, and analytic interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate to small and / or large audiences (both internal and external clients)
Experience in communicating to a senior management audience and ability to drive consensus on complex, controversial issues
Demonstrated experience in planning and execution of complex reporting and analytic projects
Strong commitment to customer service and ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams
