Job Description:

To implement the set-up of banquets, parties, meetings, etc., ensuring all arrangements are made in accordance with customer requests to maintain a very high level of service and quality

Typical Work Conditions: 
Ballroom, meeting rooms, lounge, kitchen areas and outside areas


Equipment Used: 
Computer, banquet serving and set-up equipment, stand-alone bars, MICROS

Essential Tasks:

  • Participate in management discussions
  • Determine amount of business and workload requirements from nformation gathered from Sales and Catering Departments
  • Schedules required staff and instructs on work expectations for event
  • Meets with function group leaders to determine last minute changes and discuss various set-up arrangements
  • Ensures proper service to clients during functions
  • Supervises banquet staff; hiring, training, developing and termination
  • Assists in final preparation of function bill, to assure proper changes arecalculated
  • Assists staff in setting up a function room to the desired specifications determined by the Sales and Catering Department
  • Must update Learning Plan, Monthly Action Plan & Performance Agreement annually

Knowledge/Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in business or restaurant management desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of restaurant and management experience required
  • Speak and write English clearly
  • Plan and organize the work of others
  • Deal with general public, guests, customers and employees with tact and courtesy
  • Interpret financial information and prepare budgets
  • MUST BE PROFICIENT IN MICROS
  • Write business letters and reports
