Job Description – Route Representative Footprint Retail Services



REPORTS TO: District Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

PERFORMANCE AND/OR EDUCATON PREREQUISITES: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years experience in the retail environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES: N/A

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED: The ability to read, write and speak English at a high-school level. Good verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy with Microsoft Office, internet and email required. Good leadership and organizational skills. Detail orientated. Ability to interact with varying levels of management. Ability to manage route effectively and is a self-starter. Flexibility to client and/or store requests including work schedule. Must have reliable automobile transportation and have the ability to travel to multiple store locations. Public transportation is not acceptable as it would pose a security risk.

SUMMARY: This position involves pick-ups and drop-offs of product(s) along designated routes specified by the Client. Routes can consist of multiple locations (approximately 10-15 locations) and must be completed within Client’s specified schedule. Routes are seen on a regular basis. Route frequency varies between 1 – 5 weeks with up to a 7 day window to complete, dependent on client requirements. Route Representative must be able to establish and maintain a good working relationship with on-site personnel.

REQUIRED JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Email communication to the Client on route statuses
  • Communicate with store manager and maintain a good working relationship
  • Schedule route visits to be completed within Client requirements.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including time, expense forms, log sheets, as related to all phases of the route
  • Communicate any issues to the Client and District Manager within 24 hours of route completion
  • Email (preferred method) or fax log sheets to the Client within 24 hours of route completion.
  • Implement and manage all aspects of safety training set forth by the company
  • Report all accidents within 24 hours of occurrence
  • Have daily access to internet and personal email address
  • Make drop-offs to designated facilities authorized by Client at the completion of each route
  • Safeguard the product throughout the route, including but not limited to, placing product in secured undisclosed bags during transportation, securing product in locked vehicle at all times after pick-up, keeping the product and logs visually out of site throughout the route, and being aware of surroundings during all phases of the route
MARGINAL ACTIVITIES:
  • POP placements
  • Replacement of damaged canisters and locks
  • Must be available for special pick-up within 48 hours of Client request
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to adjust to pace and tasks as needed and possess the ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to complete appropriate paperwork and online data entry
  • Ability to make decisions about proper safety
  • Any other reasonable request related to the job
