Description

The Associate Brand Manager develops and implements consumer-facing strategic marketing plans by understanding the consumer insights that drive relevance and loyalty to our brands. They also analyze business performance, manage marketing budgets in order to reach growth targets, and manage communications to sales teams and bottlers on brand programming and successes.

Seeking candidates that have two or more years of consumer marketing experience, preferably with a consumer packaged goods (CPG) company. This person will have experience using syndicated data sources such as Nielsen/IRI and will be able to turn insights into action. An MBA is required. Strong self-starter and entrepreneurial approach are key attributes for success in this role.

This role is located at our Plano, TX headquarters.

Responsibilities

1. Analysis - Responsible for on-going analysis supporting brand initiatives. Use brand, industry, and consumer data to identify business issues and opportunities, as well as to develop strategic recommendations to achieve brand goals. Provide timely and comprehensive analysis of objectives, execution, and future planning implications.

2. Project Management - Lead and manage brand initiatives. Develop objectives, spearhead programs across multiple groups, lead strategic partnerships, manage agency execution, and aid in the development and communication of all consumer, distributor/broker, and field materials. Assist in all aspects of brand marketing, including point of sale, local programs, national sales meeting planning, sales alignment meeting planning, and promotion development.

3. System Communication - This role will act as the key liaison between the Brand Marketing team and field sales teams. The candidate will consistently communicate brand objectives and plans to the sales teams, distributors/brokers, and retailers. In addition, the candidate will work across these partners to implement programs that drive growth, and will be responsible for measuring and reporting on the success of those programs.

4. Innovation - Lead cross-functional teams in flavor extension and packaging innovation efforts.

5. Insight Development - Take consumer insights and translate them into actionable, consumer-driven marketing plans. Understand and communicate the brand's unique selling propositions to key stakeholders - internal DPSG departments, field sales, distributors, retailers, and consumers. Ensure trademark consistency in all communications.

6. Budgeting - Own and actively manage the brand marketing budget. Ensure cross-functional alignment to the budget, consistently track and report on budget performance, and identify and correct any budget discrepancies.

7. Skills & Capability Development - Develop objectives and plans for personal development and training. Provide peer coaching, feedback, and guidance, and participate in all mandatory training and skills development for the role.


Qualifications

  • MBA and Bachelor degrees from accredited institutions
  • Two years of CPG experience
  • Two years of consumer marketing experience
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in using syndicated data (familiarity with Nielsen/IRI)
