Produce Lead - Full-time / Part-time

Emphasis in this position is on assisting the Produce Manager with ongoing department planning, execution and evaluation in order to ensure maximum sales and profit opportunities, effective cost control, efficient utilization of labor and strong customer service levels. This position assists the Produce Manager in providing effective training, development and work direction for department associates and requires ability to encourage individual and group effort toward department objectives. Produce employees provide a high level of customer service and practice safe food handling procedures. Each employee receives produce deliveries, builds and maintains displays and rotates stock as needed. They inspect displays for damaged or out-of-date items and remove such products for sale. They prepare product for placement on sales floor by trimming, washing, banding and/or wrapping. Each employee maintains a clean department including, floors, tables, scales, mirrors, and both wet and dry racks. Previous experience in produce sales and merchandising is preferred.
