Registered Nurse Supervisor: (This is a multi-position advertisement)

The Registered Nurse Supervisor is assigned to either the Sexually Transmitted Disease Program or the Patient Care Services of the Specialty Care Center at the Florida Department of Health-Hillsborough reporting directly to their respective Program Manager. The incumbent performs all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. As a Clinician, asses, diagnose, and treat patients with priority focus given to sexually transmitted diseases, and pre and post HIV test counseling. As the Registered Nurse Supervisor for Patient Care Services, the incumbent oversees the provision of medical and dental care services to patients that are HIV positive. The incumbent is required to possess a valid current Registered Nurse License in the State of Florida. Position.

Responsibilities may include:

Planning, organizing, coordinating and managing the clinic's patient flow to provide services to the maximum number of patients in an effective manner.

Assuring timely and adequate linkage to care, coordination of specialist care, adherence support to HIV positive patients.

Evaluating patients for conditions that are likely to increase the risk of STIs or conditions of public health significance.

Reviewing associated medical records (e.g., laboratory reports, hospital records) and Patient Reporting Investigating Surveillance Manager (PRISM) to assess, treat, or refer for care relating to various health conditions and communicable diseases.

Administering or ensuring the administration of treatment and/or immunizations and reviewing health status of and risk/benefit information with patients.

Documents medical record data into the Florida SHOTS (State Health Online Tracking System) and Health Management System (HMS) databases.

Attending health fairs within the community; these activities may occur before, during or after normal working hours and/or on weekends or holidays.

The incumbent is fully engaged and supports building trust, open communications, and keeping commitments of team priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid State of Florida Registered Nurse license

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)

Certification (current or past) as a Registered Nurse Clinician (RNC) by the Florida Department of Health, Sexually Transmitted Disease and Viral Hepatitis Program or be able to obtain certification within 120 days of hiring

Three years of Public Health Nursing Experience

Two years supervisory experience or in a "Lead" capacity

Two years experience in the area of Communicable Diseases, including but not limited to STD, HIV, TB, and Vaccines for Children

Two years experience with Electronic Health Records, such as Health Management System (HMS)

Other Desirable Qualifications:

Phlebotomy Training or Certification

Two years experience working in a healthcare setting

One year experience with developing processes or procedures

Bilingual fluency (read, write and speak) English/Spanish

Proficiency with FLSHOTS (Florida State Health Online Tracking System)
