Currently seeking an Estimator for a direct hire opportunity with an Industrial facility in the Charlotte area.

Estimator - Industrial Operations Support

This position supports the sales effort as relates to information, quotations, and cost estimating through drafting, estimating, coordinating the fabrication of thermal insulating covers and establishing best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer service duties:
    • Provides pricing to customers not in contact with a sales person.
    • Creates Drawings for parts if the customer does not supply one.
    • Performs other customer service functions as required (which may include constructing customer proto-types.
    • Interact with customer/engineer to determine specifications for product
  • Estimating duties:
    • Maintains material pricing and labor rates in estimating software.
    • Reviews actual job costs versus estimated job costs with Sales Support Manager
    • Maintains request for Quotations.
    • Maintains cost estimates.
    • Maintain records of estimating procedures for each quoted product.
    • Create formulas on Microsoft Excel to assist in complex estimating calculations.
    • Exhibit working knowledge of materials and shop floor work center processes.
  • Create and maintain detail drawings.
    • Maintain and update CAD software.
    • Backup all drawings and specifications on regular interval.
    • Keep drafting skills current.
    • Maintain familiarity with non-company drafting software.
    • Coordinate drawing transfers with customers.
    • Update drawings according to shop and customer revisions.
  • Engineer and Measure Field Equipment
    • Travel to sites to survey actual items to be insulated
    • Accurately record measurements of items
    • Develop concept, create designs

EXPERIENCE:

  • Field measure up; estimating; drawing takeoffs.

EDUCATION &/or CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent, plus additional training in manufacturing and estimating. 3-5 years' experience.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE &/or SKILLS:

  • AutoCAD
