The Assistant Designer maintains assigned department(s) product from concept to factory production. He/she will assist the Designer in all aspects of product design and development; including boards, approvals, samples, presentations, vendor communications and meeting preparation. Coordinates packages, artwork and sketches with support teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Coordinate with cross functional teams (Tech, Color and Merchants) to develop and approve product throughout the design process including preparation of tech packs.

* Create inspirational presentation materials for trend, color, and product assortments.

* Organize and maintain samples and boards for each season. Prepare for daily meetings.

* Maintain samples and filing per season. General upkeep of department.

* Stay current with trend; may assist in researching the local market.

* Communicate daily with vendors on design issues via email regarding approvals and production issues.

* Work with other design teams to ensure outfit building is executed properly.

* Prepare basic flat sketch designs.
