GENERAL SUMMARY: The Cylinder Filler will be responsible for safely handlingand filling gas products into liquid and high pressure gas cylinders incompliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting the standardoperating procedures of Airgas. In addition, this position will serve as aback-up route driver.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Handle high-pressure and liquid cylinders

* Manage paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards

* Assist loading/unloading cylinders on / off pallets and on/off tractor trailers

* Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following standardprocedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards.

* Prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels forfilling: Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possiblecontaminants.

* Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations andstandards.

* Analyzes products for purity and correct mixtures.

* Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such asodor tests, checking caps and valves.

* Accurately labels cylinders.

* Completes quality control sheets as required.

* Understands hazards of various gases; size and contents ofcylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding oftanks.

* Complies with all government and company standards relatingto the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.

* Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouseequipment.

* Maintain neat, clean and orderly plant appearance.

* Serve as a back-up route driver.

* Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

* HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.

* 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing operation, filling orloading experience preferred.

* Class B CDL Class A Preferred.

* HAZMAT endorsement

* 1 year verifiableexperience or graduate from an accredited driving school. * Must meet allphysical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.

* Strong background in gas, weldingand safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Excellent customer service skills.

* Ability to work independently and under some pressure tomeet deadlines.

* Strong level of attention to detail.

* Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in allunits of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent's.

* Able to talk, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle or feelobjects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crawl orcrouch.

* Specific vision abilities to include close vision, distancevision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focusobjects.

* Regularly required to stand, bend, stoop, crouch, reach,grasp, feel and talk or hear.

* Occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle,feel or use a calculator or computer; and reach with hands and arms

* Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and move up to125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.

* Requires both indoor & outdoor environments in variousseasonal weather conditions. Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from-10 to over 100 degrees.

* Work environment may contain loud noises and odors that maylast for long periods of time or on a continual basis.
