The R&D Director for Honeywell's Footwear and PPE RetailBusiness will be responsible for Technology Development Activitiessupporting a global $300M Footwear and PPE business and will report to theVP CTO for Honeywell's SPS business. The role will be responsible forbuilding and managing an R&D organization located in Europe, China andUS. A key responsibility for the role will be to drive innovation,insertion of new technologies, materials and components that will allow us todifferentiate our offering and enable profitable growth.

This role will have to establish the processes, tools andcapabilities needed to meet the fast timelines of a retail, seasonal business,as well as meet the demanding regulatory demands of a safety business.

The person in this role will have to partnercross-functionally in order to bring together all the expertise required tosucceed. It will have to work with Product Management and Marketingfor defining the product line strategy and roadmaps. It will have to work withfactories and labs to create samples and perform testing. It will also have toestablish strong connections with regulatory agencies, so as to align ourinternal processes with the regulatory requirements.

The R&D Director will have to have a strong Management Operating System inorder to coordinate the global teams, and to be able to support executive levelcommunication.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in mechanical, plastics or biomechanicalengineering or a degree in a related discipline.

* A minimum of 10 years of experience in footwear or relatedconsumer product field is required.

Additional Qualifications:

* Master's degree in mechanical, plastics or biomechanicalengineering or a degree in a related discipline.

* Supervisory experience a plus.

* Demonstrates a proficiency in footwear prototyping andmanufacturing processes.

* In-depth knowledge of plastics, mold design and relatedmanufacturing processes.

* Strong experience in consumer and user based researchtechniques to create new product opportunities.

* Proven track record of ability to commercialize new conceptsin a product driven fast paced environment.

* Knowledge of material testing methods, biomechanics, FEA andrelated tools for quantifying product performance.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, projectleadership and analytical skills are required as well as strong computer skills.
