Load Planner position:
The Load Planner will be part of a small team servicing a large client
- 60%+ of the job will be Load Planning: scheduling inbound and outbound shipments.
-> How this is done:
1) The Load Planner will receive: When the product needs to be picked up, what facility the product is being picked up from, when the product need to be delivered, what facility the product is going to, the product(s) being picked up, and the amount of product(s) being picked up
2) The Load Planner will verify the information received to a master list they have on file; auditing
-> If corrections need to be made they coordinate with the carrier
3) Once they verify the information, they will schedule the pick up time at (A) facility and schedule the delivery time at (B) facility
- ~25% of the Load Planners time will be submitting routing requests via online portals for box retailers and third party customers such as Home Depot, Lowes, Grainger, etc...
-> Once the routing instructions are received for the orders they will get the information to the selected carrier, and schedule the loading appointment
- ~10% of their time with be handling international shipments
HOURS:
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
-> 30 minute lunch
MUST:
- Previous office, administrative experience
- Recent and relevant experience with MS Office, Outlook specifically
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
PLUS:
- Prior 3PL, Logistics, Transportation, and/or Shipping and Receiving experience
- If the candidite does not have a background in transportation and logistics they'll need to be sharp enough and have a willingness to learn the business.
